I was driving past EBT garage on Sunrise at 1:45 PM, saw ST Orion 7 Next Gens 8002 and 8003 in the yard. Sorry I was working and don`t carry a camera when I work

They look like 40 footers, was going by eastbound, and yes they were in ST colors.

no they wouldn't be numbered in 99xx, more like 80xx oer maybe 90xx, since 99xx has already been used.

so that mean EBT has two so one is prob heading to Suffolk Bus Corp and or Inter-County, since the order was for 4, unless those are surpose to be two of the 55 bio-diesels

no Sunrise and HJ passed on the Orions when they came in, thats how they got 9604-9608 and 2001 from CBS Inc

if they are still there. like i said EBT passed on the orions before and if these are the Hybrid/eletric buses then one will most likely be moved so at least four of the operaters would have one. but then agian i have no idea what the county is doing.

EBT is mostly a school bus operation. The major route they have is the S1 which primarily get the 35 or 40 foot Gilligs(it makes the most money for EBT. The other routes 1A,1B,S20 and S31 don't).
Someone try to get a pic of those new buses.

These buses are very late. They are part of NY State consortium order for hybrids. There's only going to be 5 of them and will operate exclusively on the S1.

If you look at the schedule for the S1, i'm thinking 5 buses assigned to the S1 is standard during middays with extra buses assigned during rush hours. On Saturdays, there are only 3 buses assigned to the line. I got to make a trip there soon to see these buses in service.

Those buses would have the GM/Allison parallel hybrid system as opposed to the BAE series hybrid system of the O7's.

CDTA's with the extras entered service June of '07. IIRC Ride On got theirs first in the Spring of '06.

they are are listed on wikipedia.org as 2008 Gillig Low Floor BRT, they have an unkown Lenght and unkown engine, they are 102" in width, and there are 5 numbered from 8001 to 8005. giving EBT 25 buses now. suffolk now has 180 buses total.EBT is the only company to have these buses so far.
