A quick note 3827: During its last run this evening the bus could not get out of first gear and was moving along at only 7-12 mpg done Richmond Terrace being escorted by a dispatcher and a road truck. 3802 & 3803 was out for a while in the beginning with a similiar issue.

- Notice of bus move: The weekend of Oct 31 & Nov 1st S.I. operators are being asked to put in for overtime due to a major bus move to the bronx. Our 6000-6030 will be head for the BX not sure of depot.

- Charleston will be definately be home to 15 - 20 artics for the BRT/ SRS + S79 route beginning in Jan. 2010. My questions is where are we gonna get them from?

- Also MCI 2185/ Orion VI 6350 will be designated a museum bus before being taken out of service in future years.

I assume 1861 and 2210 or whatever the first new MCI (CT) will also join the museum fleet sometime as well since 1861 was the first one and the 22xxs will be the first of a new design, similar to the way there were new styles/models of the fishbowls.

Also, since they are saving 6350, they should also save a Viking.

BTW
"

6351-6359 is on sale.

I dont know why they choose 6350 because this is not even NYCT spec. They could have choose 6354 through 6359.

I agree save a Viking, it is significant part of the fleet.

What is the story with the batteries? Do they really need new batteries or is there something else wrong with the O6s? I heard that they were supposed to go to Chicago. What happened?

I heard that bus when I was down there last...it's AFAIK the same engine/tranny that's in the other buses, but there's something going on with the engine and/or tranny on those buses...might be the AC compressor or something else making that noise...
