Actually, this is a way to get people conditioned to using the train from NYC for when the rail link (along the PVL) to the Meadowlands is finished, since there won't even be shuttle buses at that point. You'll take a train out of PSNY, transfer to the PVL at Secaucus, and get off at the Meadowlands.Plus, with the opening game at 7pm Thursday September 4, there's no way NJT can run the 351, as it would have to run during rush hour and compete with all the buses trying to get commuters home. There'd be no extra buses or drivers to do it... they're all committed to rush hour runs. Can you imagine the traffic on 3, 495, and through the Linc with 351s added to all the commuter runs? And for those people taking the train, don't expect a seat to Secaucus that Thursday! You're standing to Secaucus, or else you won't make it to a door in time. |

Can't be service cuts, since the 351 is a special events route only. Can't be destructive competition, since NJT operated the service previously. And there is no way that it will be contracted out since the 351 wasn't contracted out. |

This would be great for rail riders of the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast lines south, Main/Bergen County,Pascack Valley,Port Jervis and Midtown Direct from the Morristown and Montclair Lines who can get to the Meadowlands Sports Complex much faster by rail and reduce traffic congestion around the Meadowland Sports Complex area. |

Previous weeknight games started later... there's never been a 7 pm weeknight kickoff for a Giants or Jets game until now. By NJT's rules for the 351, service would have needed to start at 4:30 pm from the PABT and run a "load and go" schedule until 7:30 - no logistical way to pull that off. |

Remember that it can take as long as 1 hour for a bus to get through the Lincoln Tunnel in the PM rush, increasing the number of buses needed to run load-and-go services. OTOH, Meadowland Parkway, the primary street this service would likely use, is a wide-open street, with only one major area of crowding: near the stadium itself. |

Lincoln Tunnel posted clearance is 13', according to ABC Companies' website, the TD925 is 13' 1-1/16" tall, standard equiped. Obviously, the actual tunnel clearance is slightly more than 13', and the height of the bus can vary depending on a number of factors. |

Or the notice may, as is typical, be poorly worded. Maybe you can get a through ticket to Giants Stadium from any point on NJT's system that connects to SEC from a ticket machine, AND you can get those tickets at the manned windows at the listed locations. |
