You know you're a busfan when |
|
|
Posted by dontwalkhand on Fri Jul 4 02:02:29 2008 I have thought up of stuff, and compiled this list in my head, as I was thinking about things...while riding a bus of course :) Please feel free to add to my list :) Yeah these are things I personally done :)You know you're a busfan when -You refer to streets by their route numbers. -You give people directions using route numbers. -You would drive to a bus stop, just to catch the first run of a new route and ride it :) -You would wave past buses that weren't your favorite make, or model, and you would wait at the stop until your favorite make or model of bus comes by. -Instead of pictures of your family members on your wall, you have pictures of buses. -You would drive to the bus stop and wait in your air conditioned car until a bus came, then you would quickly park it and board the bus. And last but not least...It always seems as if others just do not get it! I have Asperger's disorder, and I have done all of that, yes I have driven to bus stops numerous times, just to catch the bus :) |

Especially since I live in Tucson but I've wanted to catch new Valley Metro buses that have arrived since I've permanently moved. |

Grummans still run on NYCTA routes????? -Instead of pictures of your family members on your wall, you have pictures of buses. what about the mantle???? -You would drive to the bus stop and wait in your air conditioned car until a bus came, then you would quickly park it and board the bus. not everyone has a car/license...... |

But than again you also know your a busfan when you buy your own bus, and on your own nickel cruise around town for hours at a time in your bus. Although thats getting a bit hard with the price of diesel these days. |

Here's mine:You mute the car radio when you're alongside a bus to hear the sound of the bus engine (I have done this when driving along MDT NABIs (2004 or earlier only as those have the DDEC Series 50 engine. 2005 and later have Cummins ISM) |

You know you're a busfan when .....-You open the window in the tunnel to hear jake brake on buses. -You purposely use the jake brake on a bus your driving in the tunnel. -You open the window on a hot day and let the A/C out to hear the engine fans on a bus. |
