What is it? (Ready in 10 minute!) |

Posted by 167T on Sat Jul 5 13:59:36 2008 How a bold plan saves you money without sacrificing qualityUsing only the best components is very expensive, but we were determined to manufacture the highest quality product available, at a price point that empowers operators to use luxury coaches, even if budget restraints had prevented it in the past. So to give you the best price, we decided to assemble our high quality parts in China. It was a bold move because of the fear that people would mistake "assembled in China" for "made in China." But let us assure you, you will find a BCI Falcon 45 rivals other motorcoaches not only in regards to quality of components, but also quality of workmanship, all while realizing substantial savings. Assembling our quality parts in China allows us to boast low acquisition costs. Visit our cost of ownership page to see just how much you can actually save when you purchase a BCI Falcon 45. MY GUESS WOULD BE IF IT'S ASSEMBLED IN CHINA WITH PARTS MADE IN THE U.S., BY THE TIME THE PARTS ARE SHIPPED TO CHINA, BUILT AND SHIPEED BACK TO THE U.S. YOU COULD HAVE A BETTER BUS (MCI OR VAN HOOL) FOR THE SAME PRICE!!! I REALIZE THAT VAN HOOLS ARE IMPORTED. AS FOR THE FLORIDA PLATES AND VEGAS SIGHTINGS, THE COMPANY HAS OFFICES IN THOSE LOCATIONS. IF YOU WANT TO SEE CRAP CHINESE VEHICLES, THE SCAB COMPANY; "EXPRESS SERVICE/SPANISH TRANSPORTATION" USES CHINESE BUILT BUSES TO COMPETE WITH NJ TRANSIT'S 190 AND 171 FROM PATERSON TO NEW YORK. |

I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say. Your argument is rather incoherent and it seems as though part of it was copied and pasted from another page without providing us a link to the source. Also, don't use ALL CAPS, it's considered quite rude.First of all, Chinese buses are not "crap". I visited China in summer 2007 and I had the privilege to ride on a number of locally-built buses, which were comfortable, reliable and modern. I'd have to say that I'd rather have those than the worn-out 7000-series NABI LFWs in Los Angeles, which are only a few years old and words cannot describe how much they rattle and shake. It's a known fact that Chinese buses can be purchased cheaply, but the vast majority of them aren't even exported. Second of all, I don't understand what you're saying about "Express Service/Spanish Transportation", whatever that is. Are you saying that they're somehow "bad" because they unfairly compete with NJT 190/171? or that they're somehow "bad" because they use Chinese buses? I don't seek to defend their operations should they be rife with faults and unreliability, but I'm not hearing enough about this operation to form a well-thought-out opinion. |

I used caps to differentiate between the pasted information and my comments. As far as Express Service goes (as well as other van companies) it's well documented that they operate hapahzardly with their own set of rules. It's quite interesting that they follow the bare minimum of safety and maintenance procedures then complain when law enforcement agencies impound their vehicles for any of the follwing: no insurance, operators with no CDL, bad brakes, bad exhaust, there is a long list. Reading and speaking English also helps, which many of the van drivers do not. Look at Fung Wah!! |

Port of Authority I agree with you on Chinese buses. Yes, there are some crappy ones with wooden seats out there. However, the ones in Beijing are mostly brand new, along with the ones in Shanghai and have everything that you would expect and more (automatic stop announcements, Transit TV, air conditioning, etc).Express Service/Spanish Transportation is a dollar van service that competes with NJ Transit. Most of the time it uses share-taxi style small vehicles, including some that appear to be ex-school buses. BTW, it seems that most NABI 40-LFWs have that rattling problem, which is probably due to the small A/C duct openings. These openings are screwed in and when the screws fall out they rattle constantly. Phoenix and Las Vegas both have the same problem as well. Hopefully they fixed it on the new design buses. |

Now what does that have to do with your initial argument regarding Chinese-manufactured vehicles? |
