New Valley Metro announcements |

Posted by dontwalkhand on Sat Jul 5 21:03:25 2008 Valley Metro has new announcements to add to their automated bus announcements. Now ever 5 or 10 minutes during your ride, you will hear "Please remember to take your belongings with you as you exit the bus" and something about construction zones. Unlike the automated stop announcements, which are in a female voice, these "Public Service Announcements" are in a deep male voice, to differentiate between the service announcements and stop announcements, they however though do begin with the same alert chime as automated stop announcements.I guess they are preparing for the future route changes, light rail, etc. Now, why can't they fix the announcements on Route 156? It still says LAST STOP at Chandler-Gilbert Community College! |

I remember being on an RTS on the 0 a few years ago and being completely and totally startled by them. At first I thought that the operator manually turned them on but then I noticed they were random. Also, note that the woman that says "Orbit Circulator" is different than the regular woman who does the other announcements. Also, while they fixed route 70 when most buses cross 32nd St. it refers to the street as "Route 3" and not "Route 32" |

They now refer to route 32 as well. One other special announcement I heard this week was the one saying Central Station would be closed for July 4 and that Sunday schedules would be used. |
