Actually I drove one (DD010) from Paramus NJ to Pittsburgh and it handled quite well. Just like a normal coach. These coaches where designed to European standards. Like it will lean 28 degrees before even thinking about rolling over. its a errie feeling having a coach lean that far and not roll over.Here is the skidpad test of DD001. and it is actually 001. They have used this same technology in Chicago for a year now and have not had a problem and Chicago is the city of low clearences |

We skipped over 45313. Asked the maintenance manager why he said "think about it, its the number 13." Also one thing I did forget to say is that DD018 actually has the VIN number ??013 so go figure. |

I know I wouldn't buy a 600K+ coach and lease it out to another company. |

I wouldn't be surprised if the only buses Coach USA has with the number 13 these days are buses where they didn't choose the numbers (i.e., in Coach USA Northeast Division, there is likely a 70413---owned by Orange County, an 8513, and an 8913 (both owned by New Jersey Transit).) |

I can look Monday morning..haha not that it really matters. but it is nice to see the DD running in NYC and btw you got an amazing shot of the DD in front of a DC Trails 2008 VanHool C2045 showing off the height difference. btw the TD925 is built on the same chassis as the C2045 with some minor modifications |

Academy couldn't operate it if it wanted...the buses can't fit in the Port Authority Bus Terminal. (What I expect is that what eventually is assigned to Megabus Northeast LLC will be for the M21 only and not the M24 or the weekday runs on the M23 done by Megabus Northeast LLC.)DATTCO couldn't run them either---a J4500 barely fits in South Station. As for Martz-Gold Line, they may not be long for their portion of the M21 route. |

The 'lean' on a double-decker is not fierce. The only time you would be aware of it is when there's a full load of passengers upstairs, the reason for this being that all the heavy stuff (i.e. engine and such) is at the bottom. It is quite normal to corner in one at the same rate you would in a normal bus. As someone else has pointed out, there are stringent roll-over tests for double-deckers before they are certified for use in Britain (at least).There is a famous picture of a London Routemaster on London Transport's tilt-tester where the bus is almost at the 10 o'clock position and supported by nothing. |
