Posted by PHXTUSbusfan on Sat Dec 29 11:57:07 2007, in response to Re: More Phoenix/Tempe/Scottsdale Photos 12/27 and 12/28, posted by Sid from NJ on Sat Dec 29 07:13:07 2007. Granted I wasn't out very long but I didn't see a single RPTA D40LFR or C40LFR downtown during the evening rush hour (only several RTS-WFDs and 60BRTs). I saw one D40LFR on route 72 or 81 #6455 Thursday and then C40LFR #643? on the 81 yesterday. Those were about the extent of my D40LFR and C40LFR sightings. The rest of the sightings on the 81 were either 4000 series D40LFs, LNG NABIs, or CNG NABIs. The 72 was more limited being either 4000 series D40LFs or CNG NABIs. It almost reminded me of early 2006 (pre-C40LFRs) in terms of the buses assigned to the various routes.I don't know if there's a problem with the C40LFRs or D40LFRs or if there is simply more variety in buses due to the fact that there isn't a need for air conditioning right now (temperatures in the 50s and 60s) and as such the 4000 series buses air conditioning deficiencies aren't as much of a problem so they can be placed back into service while any issues with the D40LFRs and C40LFRs are repaired. |
