Maybe if you were a bus operator or had a job dealing with the public you'd understand. It's not a question of the driver being able or unable to face the public in the course of his normal duties. But the driver is not to do something which could put his personal safety on the line. Which exactly what could happen when a rider who the driver had arrested for an infraction comes back to settle the score with the driver. The driver is not armed to defend himself, and he is not a law enforcement officer. |
