Route X25 uses MCIs because the X25 trips are made using X29 drivers. In the morning, a driver will make an X29 trip, deadhead to Grand Central, and make an X25 trip. In the afternoon, a driver will deadhead to Vesey Street & North End Avenue, make an X25 trip, and deadhead to E. 57th Street & Madison Avenue to make an X29 trip. For X25 trips to use something other than MCI buses, they would have to have their own buses (at a high cost to NYCT), unless a way could be found to attach them to X90 trips.David |
