Every bus since the 1982 RTSs at the MTA (save the MCI cruisers---no windows) has been spec'd with two sliding windows on each side. (Some buses wound up with different specifications, however, over time, such as RTS 3303 with all windows except one opening, and 4497 (when it got sent to Ulmer Park after being out of service for many years at Walnut), ended up with 100% SEALED windows.

The specs for local buses have not changed much since 1983---always rear A/C, hooligan lights on each side of the sign, and two sliding windows on each side, to name a few.
