One Queens bus redesign error has been corrected |

Posted by gbs on Sun Sep 20 01:10:35 2026 Prior to the redesign, the first stop of the Jamaica-bound Q17 was on Main St at 38 Av, and the first stop of the Jamaica-bound Q25 was on Main St at 40 Rd, but then all the Kissena Blvd routes (Q17, Q25, Q27, Q34) stopped at Kissena Blvd at Main St (at the library) as their second stop, so riders who could use any route up Kissena could wait there for whatever bus came next. After the redesign (and bus stop elimination), only the Q17 stopped at the library, so riders along Kissena between the subway and Queens College had to choose to wait for either the Q17 or Q25 at separate stops and could not just wait for the next bus whichever it was, a real inconvenience. At last, about two weeks ago, they moved the first stop of the Q17 to Main St at Roosevelt Av, on the same block and right behind the Q25 first stop, so riders who can use either bus can now wait for either bus at the same block. The Q65, whose first stop used to be at Main & Roosevelt, now has its first stop at Main & 38, with its second stop still at Sanford & Kissena, now quite a distance apart. Those Flushing riders who could use either the Q25 or Q65 to their shared Jamaica terminus are now out of luck. The printable bus schedules on the MTA website, dated September 6, do not reflect these changed bus stops and still list the old ones. |
