Posted by W.B. on Fri Sep 12 13:47:09 2025 September 12, 1966 - The Book of First Runs The Bronx, New York Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority (Surface Transit Division) A new offshoot of the Bx-6 - Throggs Neck line, Bx-6C - Shuttle (though still indicating 6 on roll signs), begins service on this date. September 12, 1971 - The Book of Route Service Changes The Bronx, New York Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority (Surface Transit Division) Route Bx-8 - Williamsbridge Road is rerouted to 225th Street and White Plains Road, while the Bx-15C - Allerton Avenue line (the once and future Bx-17) is extended from Asch Loop to Einstein Loop (Co-op City) and Bx-9 - Eastchester Road is rerouted to 233rd Street and White Plains Road.
