There are those who consider today's buses to be more like oversized milk cartons, robotic caterpillars, enlarged dust busters, or (in the case of the "artics") Slinkies on wheels.But then, today's subway cars don't have the lore the older rolling stock do, either . . . I also wonder if a deep-seated antipathy towards buses dating back to the elimination of streetcars in the 1920's-'50's period is also at play. |
