I'd say the out of state transplants are more important to politicians today than NYC homeowners of all racial, ethnic or socioeconomic background. Out of state transplants are easier to control than homeowners as they can easily campaign on national issues like social justice and resisting Trump and get votes while politicians real estate industry and other donors can do as they please. Can't do that with outer borough homeowners. |
