The Staten Island express bus portion of the re-design was completed and implemented in 2018. The Staten Island local bus portion of the redesign is on hold and hasn't been mentioned in the Staten Island Advance for years.Some preliminary work on the SI local bus study was probably done back in 2016. At that time there were vague suggestions made about improving bus service to major employment centers like the College of SI, South Avenue corridor, Matrix Park (Amazon, etc) and the 3 hospitals on the island. The local buses are a low priority for Staten Islanders and Staten Island elected officials. |
