Lehigh Valley Transit In Color (2011), Morning Sun Books Tuscarora Almanac – March 6, 1936 – The Book of First and Last Runs Manhattan, New York New York Railways Corporation New York Omnibus Corporation The 8th Street Crosstown Line is converted from streetcar to bus operation. The new bus route will be known as Route 13. The 7th Avenue Streetcar of New York Railways is converted to bus operation. The new bus service will be known as Route 8. Route 9 7th Avenue & 8th Street bus line begins at the same time but is discontinued on March 1, 1943. Streetcar service had been run by the New York Railways Corporation.
