The new bus route will be known as Route 13. The 7th Avenue Streetcar of New York Railways is converted to bus operation. The new bus service will be known as Route 8. Route 9 7th Avenue & 8th Street bus line begins at the same time but is discontinued on March 1, 1943. Streetcar service had been run by the New York Railways Corporation.
