Posted by Transportation Hub on Fri Nov 20 19:44:29 2020 2016 NovaBus LFS Artic SmartBus #5439 has made its debut to NYCT back in January 2017 in the traditional blue and white scheme. It was dispatched from the Kingsbridge Bus Depot (Bronx), and ran on the local artic routes such as the Bx15 Local. It was pulled from service in May of that year. It returned to service in October of 2018 as a new scheme +SelectBus unit, assigned to the Michael J. Quill Bus Depot (Manhattan), running on various +SBS routes, such as the M86 +SBS. A year later, #5439 went to Flatbush Bus Depot (Brooklyn) and ran on the B44 & (in the video) B46 +SBS routes. In late Spring/early Summer of this year, unit #5439 returned to Kingsbridge Bus Depot and is now sporting the new blue and gold scheme for local/limited routes, operating on Kingsbridge’s local artic routes. Please enjoy the transition for #5439.Kingsbridge Depot has received the 2016 Novabus LFS Artic Smartbus units #5439 (was at KB when it was a traditional scheme and a former +SBS unit at Quill and Flatbush) and #5441 (a former +SBS unit from Quill and Flatbush). The local scheme was laid on top of the +SBS scheme for local service along Kingsbridge's local articulated routes. Please enjoy.
