Can anyone enlighten me more about it Before the Port Authority Bus Terminal was built several midtown hotels functioned as terminals for the bus lines. In addition to lodging they has restaurants, bath, western union and other services. The Hotel Dixie probably has the most elaborate setup. Buses would enter a ramp on 43 Street and descend to the lower level. There a turntable would switch to bus to anyone of twelve loading bays. Even after the PABT opened Mohawk Coach Lines continued to stop here for a few years. Larry, RedbirdR33 |
