Septa uses EPU motors ,diesel, for non-power sections. If you automatically lower the poles from the button near the driver , and they lower, but these are not hooked,they dangle,you can go 8 MPH. If you get out of your seat and lock them down you can go 24.9 MPH. This setting of 24.9 is "just" below the number. 25 would require a PA. State Emissions sticker on each coach, so they avoid that. When you are on full electric , the top speed is 38 MPH, good for our city streets,
