Port Jervis Line Busing and a question

Posted by IRTRedbirdR33 on Tue Sep 17 14:17:24 2019

Cetrain midday trains on the Port Jervis line are being bused between Harriman and Port Jervis. This time the contract operator is Coach USA. I was at the Harriman station yesterday and observed several buses in the Coach USA red, white and blue livery. However the buses came from three different subsidiaries, Rockland Coaches, Hudson Transit (Shortline) and Community Coach It is hard to tell who is actually operating the buses. I rode in a Community Coach bus built by Van Hool. It was number 14203. I believe that this is a model CX-45. Does anyone know for sure?

The normal route for the bus from Harriman to Salisbury Mills is Routes 17-208-94.However there is a major reconstruction project underway at the intersection of Route 17 and the Thruway. So are driver headed up Route 32 and then went over several back roads to get to the station. It was actually a very interesting ride passing through the backwoods and several farms.
