To add a little bit more history - the current M103 Third-Lexington route is basically the same as the old NYC Omnibus #3 Lexington Ave. route that ran from 1936 until July 1960 when Lexington and Third became a one-way couplet. Afterward, a short turn service ran between 23rd and 125th Streets, which was numbered M101 like the main Surface Transit route but used Fifth Avenue Coach drivers and buses.
