Let’s not go Down the demographics sinkhole and focus on the facts . Places that have high fare evasion should have increased enforcement and penalties . Consistent enforcement will Lea all but the truely bad people to pay. People are copy cats, you don’t pay, I don’t pay .If you can’t pay the fine you need to work off the fine cleaning stations or something that benefits the mta . What needs to be different that the current probation work programs is that the person paying the penalty should be treated with dignity and respect and taught a skill ( clear I g how to properly mop or sweep or landscape is a quality skill ) I see the workfare and probation people in the park. Supervisor sits in running air condition or heated truck and workers just do half tail work . |
