Posted by Kevin from Midwood on Wed Jul 24 20:23:23 2019, in response to Re: SBS RULE, posted by BrooklynBus on Mon Jul 22 09:39:35 2019. Despite my best efforts—regularly positioning myself at the last door of the southbound N train and walking briskly up the stairs and out to the bus stop on Kings Highway—I've had far more incidents of getting there just in time to watch a B82-SBS pull out (followed by a 10-minute wait for the next one) than I would have attributed to random chance. This time around, I thought I could just barely get the transaction done and make it on, but no, the driver closed the doors as I started to approach. Disgusted, I balled up the receipt, threw it in the trash, and started walking home. When I got to McDonald Ave, I'd had enough of the heat and decided to wait in the shade for the next bus. (And by the way, I was on an SBS at McDonald Ave not too long ago when a male driver talked to a young woman through the front door and then waited specifically for her to walk over to a machine, buy a ticket, and board.)Why does any of this matter to you? |
