Most of the bridge and tunnel enforcement stuff is by (armed peace officer, not police officer) MTA Bridge and Tunnel Officers, and their cars were repainted to look more like trooper cars, but it says New York State on the trunk, rather than State Trooper. The BTOs wear uniforms closer to the NYPD. You will occasionally see MTA-PD at the bridge also. Cuomo put a bunch of troopers on NYC highways. The troopers are on the LIE, Belt Pkway, FDR Dr, etc Its a Cuomo v DiBlasi thing. |
