Posted by W.B. on Fri Jun 29 12:48:18 2018, in response to Re: Very rare NYCT/MaBSTOA destination readings roll signs (lots of them), posted by D to E to Jamaica on Fri Feb 25 17:06:10 2011. As of October 1976, the MaBSTOA route assignments in Manhattan would have been as such (route assignment origins of Bx21 and Q89 in italics):Hudson (HUD): M11 - Ninth and Amsterdam Avenues M12 - Spring and Delancey Streets Crosstown M13 - 8th Street Crosstown M14(A) - 14th Street via Avenue A M14(D) - 14th Street via Avenue D M16 - 34th Street Crosstown M21 - Houston Street and Avenue C Crosstown M26 - 23rd Street Crosstown 54th Street (FFS): M6 - Broadway, Seventh Avenue and Avenue of the Americas M17 - 79th Street Crosstown M18 - 86th Street Crosstown M28 - 57th Street Crosstown M30 - 72nd Street Crosstown M32 - Fifth and Madison Avenues-Queensboro Bridge-Jackson Heights Q89 - Elmhurst Crosstown M103 - 59th Street Crosstown M106 - 42nd Street Crosstown 100th Street (OHS): M19 - 96th Street Crosstown M41 - Culture Loop I M101 - Third, Lexington and Amsterdam Avenues M102 - Third, Lexington and Lenox Avenues X23 - Wall Street - Yorkville Express 132nd Street (OTS): M3 - Fifth and Madison Avenues via St. Nicholas and Convent Avenues M4 - Fifth, Madison and Fort Washington Avenues M5 - Fifth Avenue-Avenue of the Americas-Riverside Drive M20 - 116th Street Crosstown Bx21 - Triborough Bridge (Bronx - Astoria) M34 - Triborough Bridge (Manhattan - Wards Island) M35 - Triborough Bridge (Manhattan - Astoria) 146th Street (OFS): M1 - Fifth and Madison Avenues M2 - Fifth and Madison Avenues via Seventh Avenue M7 - Broadway, Columbus and Lenox Avenues M10 - Eighth Avenue and Central Park West Bx30 - 149th Street Crosstown Amsterdam (AMS): M100 - Broadway-Kingsbridge M104 - Broadway Looks like along the way, the old FACCo '10 - Broadway' pull-in/pull-out only route - designated 'M10 Broadway' on 1973 side signs for GMC T6H-5309A's and 5310A's - disappeared from the itinerary. I must say that the photo links made "at the time" would no longer hold. I hope people who frequent and post on this board saved the pics, especially the side roll signs . . . quite a few have become lost to time. |
