Re: W.B.'s Bus Almanac for May 24th

There is on eBay, a portion of one of the 'Old Look' front half rollsigns, from c.March 1964, which clearly states, "107 - 106th St. Xtown - Via-110 St.-5 Ave." Even when fully run (between Sept. 9, 1962 and May 23, 1964), it was only half on 106th Street - at 106th and 5th, prior to this 1964 date, it turned on then-still crosstown Fifth Avenue, then travelled across 110th Street to Riverside Drive. Its ridership must've been mighty low for it to be cut back like this, but (at the time) not low enough to discontinue it entirely - until Jan. 7, 1974 when it was folded into the M19.

While the main M19 branch is today's M96 (since 1993, I.I.N.M.), the 106th Street branch became the current M106 in 1995-96.
