If they were going to go with the single letter boro designations like they insisted on doing with the single letter subway routes, then the logical way (which of course is never the MTA way)to do it would be: M - Manhattan, B - Bronx, K - Brooklyn (Kings Co), Q - Queens, an S - Staten Island. The only change from the current would be the Bronx and Brooklyn.
