There is no way the mall could be that wide without removal of a traffic lane. When a traffic lane was removed from Woodhaven Boulevard last year, nowhere in ANY of the presentations was it spelled out that a traffic lane was being removed. They just stated it in positive terms saying "a bus lane will be created". Nowhere did they ever state how that will happen. They also stated that three traffic lanes in each direction would be maintained, neglecting to ever mention that the three lanes would not be adjacent to each other but separated by an island limiting when you could switch lanes to bypass traffic. The only way to tell was by looking at the maps.So why would they now ever say that they will be taking away a lane. Some have stated that the bus will have its own lane in places. (I haven't seen that in writing.) If it is true then there will only be two lanes left for cars in each direction, one on the main road and one on the service road. Can you imagine the traffic if that happens? Nothing will move at all. |
