However, all these trade-offs are done without anyone acknowledging (or most people knowing) what the trade-off of deaths vs hours saved actually is.Exactly -- up until now, the assumption has simply been that reductions in automobile travel time are to be pursued regardless of any cost in lives that may be entailed. That's immoral, frankly. |
