I do, however, respectfully disagree with the statement to the extent that there is an implication that government has a right or duty to decide what economic activity is "bad" (other than those activities that are actually unlawful), or which do not "benefit" society (presumably with the government as arbiter of what is "beneficial"), and in doing so to effectively pick "winners" and "losers."By heavily subsidizing toll-free expressways, the government has picked winners and losers. |
