I have no idea how well Google's idea will work. Tests are needed to determine that.What's noteworthy is that this is the first attempt to reduce injuries in a pedestrian-automobile collision for a given impact speed. It comes nearly 40 years after the automobile industry was made aware of the relation between killed/severely injured and impact speed. |
