A possible explanation is that my memory is a little faulty and they were not all renumbered at once but in several stages with only the M34, M42 and M57 being renumbered first in 1984. (I believe the M14 was always the M14.) And the others renumbered between 1986 and 1989. I think the M8 was not renumbered until MTA takeover from East Broadway.But the overall point is still the same. They took my suggestion while saying it was a poor idea. That is hypocrisy. |
