And yet that's exactly what you expect pedestrians to do.It's what I try to do as a pedestrian. I wish I didn't have to, but it's a matter of self-preservation. I've done over 300,000 Manhattan street crossings in my years of commuting to work, and I'm not sure I would have survived them all if I hadn't been more careful than I am legally obligated to be. |
