The route from Rockville Centre was via Merrick Road and Hook Creek Blvd., and I rode it maybe twice. Bounced much on Hook Creek Blvd. I'm not a frequent flyer, but one memorable time about 1997, I returned from a two-day visit to Los Angeles with minimal baggage. Got off American Airlines red-eye at dawn, boarded the bus to Rockville Centre (senior fare), then LIRR single-zone senior fare and home! Better than $80 or $100 cab fare. Even less expensive than Air Train, which put the LI Bus route out of service. Yes, it was N91. |
