Posted by Joe on Sun Nov 29 09:27:02 2015 Mulcahy's is a prosperous bar adjacent to the Wantagh LIRR station. Two weeks ago, five North Fork Express bus loaded there for a Jets game at the MetLife Stadium. Today, four buses of young fans (mostly couples) were loading before 9 a.m.for today's 1 p.m. game against the Miami Dolphins. A Mulcahy's employee said they charge $65, which does not include the game ticket. It looked as if they were packing tailgate supplies. For convenience, this certainly beats the LIRR to Penn Station, NJT to Secaucus and shuttle train to the Meadowlands.--- The four buses were from Camden Coach and had Massachusetts plates. One was 97, the newest 2209, and another a 900, but I could not figure out the manufacturers. Any guesses? Maybe I should not be surprised that the charter business would draw buses from distant firms. |
