Yes, there was a well-managed family operation connecting Asbury Park and Manhattan, with its garage somewhere along NJ 35, Keyport more or less, or maybe Matawan. It may be the one I recall as Rollo (family name).

To my mind, the Academy desk inside the Cheesequake Service Area is a direct descendant of this operation, which competed with both the CNJ and the PRR.
