The Septa 59 as a bus. |
|
Posted by TransitChuckG on Sat Aug 29 07:07:08 2015 I rode the 59, the are busing the line because they are installing bracket arm standards for the traffic lights on Castor Ave., above Cottman St.. The arm cannot be very long, it stops about one foot short of the trackless wires. As much as I like trackless, it really is a pleasant change riding a bus. No slowing down for switches and crossovers, also you can get around Oxford Circle quickly, not the 15 mph with the trackless. The customers seem to like the bus , better over the trackless, we will see. Early AM , 5529 5529 Bracket arm pole at Hoffnagle st. Pole Bells Corner mid-day shot. 5527 This is the sign that I got charged because it said BELLS CORNER BUS LOOP, and that was incorrect as the 59 Trackless and short turn 58 buses use it.Well, today it really was a just bus loop.
