    The weather is cold, and the Rheingold Beer ad is bright red. The roller sign clearly reads 1 TO 138 & CONCOURSE. St. Philip Neri church, built for a congregation of Croton Aqueduct workers, is behind the bus. Subway gratings line the traffic island.
