You are not going to get Amtrak or NJT to do anything but a tunnel for commuter rail.Then get the MTA involved and build the commuter rail tunnels to accommodate the 7 train above or beside the Amtrak/NJT traffic, like the 63rd St tunnel. Just get a bigger TBM. After all, this is all being done for NYC's economic benefit, they may as well foot some of the bill and we may as well run four tracks across the river for ~150% the cost of running two. |
