MTA New York City Transit subway and bus service will operate on a Sunday schedule beginning at noon today.

Bus service will be resumed incrementally and customers should be aware that some local detours may be in effect.

Final assessments on the bus, rail and subway network are being performed in anticipation of the restoration of service.

Service will operate on a full weekday schedule on Wednesday, January 28th.

Buses
This year’s weather plan has been updated to include new snow-fighting equipment; new improved cold-weather and communications equipment; increased planning and collaboration with the Department of Sanitation; and more alerts and checks on conditions for quicker and more proactive operations planning.

Bus managers now have new technology that tracks service when it falls below minimum expected levels on any route, allowing them to make decisions more quickly. The Department of Buses also prepares special “winter weather schedules” that can substitute for service curtailments on a route-by-route basis.

Paratransit
Paratransit will resume service this morning. The Call Center is open but service will not be running at normal levels. NYC Transit has a procedure in place with New York City first responders and the Office of Emergency Management for rescuing customers who develop medical needs during storms.
