The X29 was the premium-fare alternative to the Culver and Brighton Lines. In the 70s and 80s it was a service and safety issue, the subways were a horror. Now it's more of a comfort and convenience issue. Longer Brooklyn - Manhattan travel times, but in a nice coach bus. Everything is a trade-off.On SI the express buses are definitely faster than the train-ferry or bus-ferry combinations, especially to midtown. |
