Second, any Long Beach Expressway would not have been numbered I-878 because it would have been a spur and not a loop, and thus would have used an odd number. To my knowledge, no interstate number was planned.According to nycroads.com, the City portion was briefly signed I-878 in 1989, and was listed as I-878 in the 1998 FHWA Route Log. In fact, it's still listed as I-878 in the 2013 FHWA Route Log. |
