It was just a combination of two routes. I believe, however it was done in two stages like the splitting of the 61. For a time after the 57 was extended to Downtown Brooklyn, there was overlap between the 57 and 75. From that point of view it was a service cut. The MTA can't make comprehensive changes, so they do it in small stages which is unnecessary.It is better when bus routes don't totally duplicate subway lines like the 75 used to do. The current routing of the 61 and 57 gives passengers more options through less transferring. |
