A Nassau County bus smashed into a Papa John's Pizza after it vaulted the curb in Queens early Saturday, witnesses said.

The B54 bus was heading west down Francis Lewis Blvd. in Hollis near 90th Ave. when it suddenly swerved right, jumping the curb and crashing through the pizza joint's entrance around 1:25 a.m., Shah Ahmed, the restaurant's manager said.

Ahmed, 35, said he was getting ready to close shop when the bus came flying through the take-out station.

"I was inside cleaning when suddenly I heard the sound like a bomb blasting," Ahmed said. "My take-out station is gone."

He called 911 when the smoke and dust cleared, realizing that the bus had trapped him inside the building.

It was not immediately clear what caused the bus to lose control or how many passengers were on board. There were no injuries, fire officials said.

A damaged bicycle was lying in front of the bus on the sidewalk and Ahmed said he thought the driver may have swerved to avoid hitting the cyclist.

"I think the bus driver was trying to save the biker and turned," he said.

Ahmed said two delivery drivers walked out just moments before the bus came barreling into the building.

"I sent two drivers out just before it happened. Two or three minutes later, it might of been them getting hit.

"It's crazy. I never would think of something like this happening."
