Posted by gbs on Sun Aug 31 00:08:18 2014 Saturday I noticed that the new double-length "drop off only" bus stop has been installed for the Q17 and Q27 in Flushing, on 39 Av just east of Main St, next to the Chase bank.This means that the announcement on the mta.info site, "The terminals for both routes in downtown Flushing will be relocated from Main Street between 39th Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue to 138th Street between 39th and 37th Avenues" is both wrong and misleading. Since the starting points for both routes are not changing, the mta announcement is referring to the drop-off point as the terminal that is changing. But the drop-off point hasn't been on "Main Street between 39th Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue" for years, and it is not moving to "138th Street between 39th and 37th Avenues", only the lay-over spot is moving there, which is of no concern to the riders. Leave it to the TA or MTA to get so much wrong in one sentence. |
