Ridership can be counted by people. Cities all over the world do it that way. LIRR and NJT do it that way.If you don't require riders to register both when entering and leaving the system, then your ridership data isn't particularly valid anyway. You won't know whether the person got off at the next stop or if they got off at the end of the line. So you have to supplement with other forms of counters anyway. |
