RUMOR: LYNX to buy some 2006 Valley Metro New Flyer C40LFRs |

Posted by Pink Jazz on Thu Aug 21 15:13:59 2014 According to a post at CPTDB, there are rumors that LYNX in Orlando, Florida is looking to buy some 2006 New Flyer C40LFRs from Valley Metro.If these rumors are true, I wonder how will this affect bus operations in the East Valley of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, particularly those out of the Mesa garage where the 2006 C40LFRs are based. Perhaps some of that lost capacity will be made up by upcoming joint Phoenix/RPTA bus order, however, the City of Phoenix still has a lot of old NABIs to replace with that order. Perhaps the RPTA could move a few 2008 C40LFRs back to Mesa, however, I am not sure if there will be enough buses to support the entire combined Mesa/Tempe operation. The Tempe garage is more convenient for several routes (particularly the east-west routes) since it is more centrally located. |
