Posted by Wakefield-241st Street on Wed Aug 20 13:27:23 2014, in response to Bee-Line schdeule changes on 9/1 - 2/2014 for 1, 1X, 2, 7, 12, 40, 78; New: 8 - Sunday service, posted by Gold_12th on Tue Aug 19 23:12:01 2014. EFFECTIVE TUESDAY 9/2/2014...Route 8: New Sunday service will be added. ABOUT FRIGGIN TIME This is what I also would like to see on Bee Line 3: Trial period on all day weekday service between 242/VCP and White Plains. Rush hour service to/from Purchase/Kenilworth Road will continue. 5/6: Hourly service on Sundays - not every two hours on each route - and operating between 8 AM to 8 PM 8/78: Combine the routes as one, operating from Riverdale Ave/Mount St. Vincent along the 8 portion (Saw Mill River Road), all stops then through Stew Leonard/Ridge Hill then return on Tuckahoe Road to the RR station. The routes are nearly identical. 7: Some weekday and Saturday runs to 242/VCP, supplementing a east/west route from 242/VCP subway. All three routes (including the route 1 branches) originating from 242 are north/south routes. Consider ending all route 1 branches, except for the 1X at Yonkers and make the 7 full time to 242/VCP. 25: Add 5:20 and 5:40 AM runs from Yonkers to 238/Nereid. The first bus at 6 AM is nearlty SRO by the time it gets to 238. Add Sunday service to 10 PM, bypassing CC Mall. 40: Extend most trips to 241 subway 42: On turnaround from 233 Street, use Barnes Ave and East 236th Street instead. Byron Ave is a tight two-way street. 52/55 Swap routing in Mount Vernon so the full time 55 runs straight down South 5th Street while the 52 uses Columbus Ave. Thus a more direct route to/from Dyre is achieved. Eliminate the Secor Housing portion of the 52 in the Bronx. Add later Sunday evenng service on the 4, 25 (see above) and 40. |
