When Somerset County started running Easton Av DASH buses in the 1990's, Suburban was still running to Somerville, and made quite a fuss.So Somerset had to make sure no bus ran through between New Brunswick and Bound Brook, but the various frequencies merely overlapped. Of course Suburban made no attempt to run through corporate office parks on Davidson Ave where transit-dependent people had to go, and made it very difficult to obtain a schedule, even to County officials, so they were full of shit. I suspect that same arrogance today is what caused them to first cut to Dunellen "60" bus back from 5 frequencies per rush period to 2, then to 0. I do not think Suburban should have been granted Atlantic City franchises from these areas given the way they treated the locals, pun intended. |
